Chronos

This is a proposed tribe for Seattle Dorkbot's EmergentCommunication art show based on the protocol Chrono

A common controller and code can/will be implemented upon which each piece can be built and individually customized easily via a data file.

Each piece will have a listen, delay, response, delay, send sequence, of an adjustable or random length (suggested cycle time between 30 sec. and 3 minutes).

Pieces will listen for a Chrono message (tone between 250ms and 1 sec @ 5 kHz) for some period of time, then after some delay respond to that tone (message) if they choose to in any manner they choose. Members can choose a sparse response or to only respond to some of the messages.

It is suggested that all units choose 1 or 2 messages to simultaneously respond in a similar manner to tie the tribe together. Perhaps all flashing red lights upon joy...

If enough people are interested we could make two tribes within a tribe having an overlapping conversation or perhaps several of us will want to make multiple pieces?

I have not yet defined the emotions and other tokens that Chrono messages will represent, that is intentional as once the tribe is formed, we can determine what kind of conversation we want our pieces to share.

My inclination is to make floor standing human scale pieces that are slightly anthropomorphic, though we can refine that and not all pieces need be of the same scale.
