Okay, okay. I know I no longer live in Portland so I don't really qualify for this group, but y'all are still my peeps.
In keeping with all the other pages on here that have a big list of "things I do":
- I do not understand electricity, however
- I can use most powertools
- I also understand and work with the Internet
- I would like to be an historian
- Sometimes I build things
- Sometimes I build websites
- Usually I just come up with ideas to (build|start|open|run) projects but never actually (build|start|open|run) them
Shit I hope to do one day or another. Eventually. Maybe. (Whatever):
- Write a paper on the life cycle of a particular saying that will get me into an undetermined graduate school program in an undetermined field, but where I am able to dissertate on the "history of information"
- Build mini elevated indoor greenhouses so that I can somehow 1) grow plants 2) in a typically petite NYC apartment that 3) my cats will not eat
Finish my half-complete reed & bellows upright instrument (in other words, an instrument which works more or less like an accordion, but which is not squeezable)
- Learn 1 or more foreign languages. Like, actually learn them. Not the half assed pidgin shit I know now.
- Teach myself everything that my high school and college educations failed to teach me, either through negligence or inability (on my part or theirs)
- Build a firebox smoker (more commonly known as a Texas-style barbeque pit or grill)
- Make my own camera from bits I have laying about
- Get an apartment where I can build a darkroom in which I can recreate historical photographic development techniques
- Drive from England to Mongolia in a Citroen 2CV
Shit I pretend like I would like to do even though I know full well I am deluding myself:
- Starting an online journal
- Starting a physical journal
- Starting a charter school
- Building barbeque grills for a living
- Apprenticing with a (sausage|cheese) maker and starting my own (sausage|cheese) making business
- Creating a non-military, non-volunteer construction force that travels around the world (ie - Louisiana, Iraq, etc) and builds shit that needs to be built, mainly because no one else seems to be capable or willing to do this
- Starting a company of any sort
- Fixing the American educational system, including our currently useless public school, and even more useless higher educational, system
- Making American academics speak and write in English
- Winning Powerball
